What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapists help individuals to maximise their participation and increase their independence in daily activities (occupations). These activities may include washing, dressing, writing, playing, tying shoelaces, completing schoolwork and leisure.

Occupational therapists support people to relearn and gain new skills, or find different ways of doing activities. They may also recommend appropriate equipment, if needed.
